Sometimes it rains on your wedding day and that’s OK! Jason and Mary Ellen didn’t let a little (or a lot of) rain ruin their best day ever. While the afternoon leading up to their Grand Street KC wedding may not have gone quite as planned, it was still a day full of fun surrounded by their best friends and family.
The day started at the Ambassador Hotel in downtown KC. We found the perfect locations for first looks with the Bride’s dad and a First Look for the Bride and Groom. There’s a 100% chance I will tear up during a first look with dad. It gets me every time!
After a few attempts to take photos outside we finally landed at Union Station. The natural light and large open space at Union Station gave us the perfect backdrop for photos. The wedding party may have been a little wet but nothing took the smiles of their faces. 🙂
Their Ceremony at Grand Street was perfect. Natural light and white walls gave a light and airy feel to the ceremony. The rain stopped right after, and we were able to get some of the most perfect sunset portraits. The busy streets of the plaza were the perfect spot to photograph the newly married couple. If rain on your wedding day is good luck, these two won the lottery! Congrats to Jason and Mary Ellen!
