Winter in Kansas City was brutal this year. Snow, ice, cold, and everything else you’d expect from winter, but on a much larger scale than we’re used to here. Jack and Emily have an upcoming May wedding and live out of town. When we scheduled their engagement session we knew it would be cold, but didn’t expect temps in the teens! With the approaching wedding only months away, we bundled up and braved the cold.
Our first stop was the Liberty Memorial. We were hoping for skyline photos but because the viewing platform was covered in ice it was closed. We made the best of it and still found a few perfect spots for photos! Next we headed to Union Station to thaw out and grabbed some photos at one of my favorite locations, the balconies. Because we still had about 45 minutes until sunset we headed to the Nelson Atkins for some beautiful, glowy sunset photos. These two are so sweet and never once complained about the cold. I can’t wait for their May Wedding!
